This webcam is located in the Tourist Information Centre's Exhibition Area on Argyll Square. It's the perfect place to wave to distant friends from. Give them a call, get them to log onto the site and then wave madly at them!
Your first view of Oban is one you are unlikely to forget. From the north, you glimpse this bustling port from the top of the 'Bealach-an-Righ'. As you sweep down the hill towards the expanse of the bay, the view opens up before you and begin to appreciate why Oban has developed into Scotland's most popular west-coast holiday town.
Oban is justifiably known as the Gateway to the Isles. The town's south pier is the embarkation point for car ferries to Mull, Coll, Tiree, Barra, South Uist, Colonsay, Lismore and Islay. From these islands you can travel further afield to Iona, Staffa and to many of the smaller less well known isles.
