Campbeltown is the principal town in Kintyre, at the southern end of the Kintyre peninsula and famed for its mild climate (right on the Gulf Stream), golf courses, sandy beaches, whisky distilleries and superb variety of wildlife and history. It is easy to reach and provides a wonderful holiday setting for families, birdwatchers, walkers, photographers, anglers, golfers and general sightseers.

Kintyre is on the extreme west coast of Scotland and is sometimes known as "Scotland's only mainland island" as it is only barely joined to the mainland by a small isthmus at Tarbert and has all the life and characteristics of an island without the need for a ferry crossing as the only means of arrival and departure.

Campbeltown and the Mull of Kintyre are also popular film making locations and are popular with wildlife photographers and naturalists. You may also be aware that Sir Paul McCartney might just like the place too!
