Sitges is a small town on the Spanish Mediterranian coast about 25 miles south of Barcelona. This camera takes in the main promenade, beach area and popular local attractions.
Sitges is known for its beaches, nightspots and historical sites such as Sitges Church, Santa Tecla and Mont Roig Pass. It is known as one of Europe's most popular gay tourist towns, and is most frequented during July and August.
Sitges has a busy calendar of events including a Carnival which takes place between February and March each year. It is sometimes known as "Ibiza in minature" and has a strong international flavour with many residents from countries such as the Netherlands, UK, France and Scandinavia.
